Application of Silicon Manganese 6014 alloy
Silicon Manganese alloy 6014 is mainly used as a deoxidizer and alloy additive in steelmaking, which can reduce the aluminum and nitrogen content in steel, and can also produce low-carbon manganese iron and a reducing agent for electric silicon thermal method metal manganese.
When smelting ordinary steel, silicon is usually used as a deoxidizer. However, due to the high content of silicon in steel, it can reduce the plasticity and toughness of the steel. Therefore, this deoxidizer is only suitable for smelting ordinary steel and not suitable for smelting low silicon and low-carbon steel grades. In contrast, Silicon Manganese alloy 6014 is more practical as an ideal deoxidizer. It can not only reduce the aluminum and nitrogen content in steel to a lower level, but also due to its high affinity for oxygen, it can quickly convert oxygen into low melting point and easily floating deoxidized particles, thereby avoiding the generation of large amounts of aluminum oxide.
