The role in steelmaking
Deoxidizer: In the steelmaking process, Ferro Manganese is an inexpensive deoxidizer. By reacting with ferrous oxide to form insoluble oxide slag in molten steel, Ferro Manganese can effectively reduce the oxygen content in steel, thereby improving the quality of steel.
Desulfurizer: Ferro Manganese can combine with sulfur to form high melting point manganese sulfide, thereby reducing the sulfur content in steel and improving its malleability and rolling ability.
Alloy element: Ferro Manganese, as an alloy element, can strengthen ferrite and refine pearlite, improve the hardness, ductility, toughness, and wear resistance of steel. It is widely used in alloy steels such as structural steel, tool steel, stainless heat-resistant steel, and wear-resistant steel.
The role in casting
Inoculant and spheroidizing agent: During the casting process, Ferro Manganese can be used as an inoculant and spheroidizing agent to promote the precipitation of graphite, shorten spheroidizing time, improve the quality of cast iron, and reduce the blockage of the smelting furnace water outlet, extending the service life of the smelting furnace.
Reduce impurity forms: Ferro Manganese can significantly reduce the form of impurities in molten iron, improve the quality of cast iron, and enhance its performance.
