Silicon Metal Powder
Silicon metal is a single element obtained by reducing quartz sand and carbon in an electric arc furnace. The purity is usually 97%-99.5%, and the main component is silicon. Silicon metal powder is a powder made by crushing and grinding metal silicon blocks. The particle size is generally 100 mesh-3000 mesh.
Silicon Powder
Silicon powder refers to silicon-containing powder, with various raw materials and ingredients. Common types include: microsilicon powder and crystalline silicon powder. Microsilicon powder is an ultra-fine powder collected through flue gas when ferroalloy plants smelt ferrosilicon or metallic silicon. The main component is amorphous silicon dioxide. Crystalline silicon powder is a powder ground from quartz sand. It is essentially silicon dioxide, and its purity fluctuates with the quality of quartz sand.

Typical uses of metal silicon powder

- Electronic industry: High-purity metal silicon powder is used to produce silicon raw materials for semiconductor materials and solar cells.
- Chemical industry: It can be used to prepare organic silicon compounds or participate in chemical reactions as a reducing agent.
Typical uses of silicon powder
- Building materials: added to concrete, using its ultra-fine particle size to fill the gaps between cement particles, improve the strength, impermeability and wear resistance of concrete, and used in high-strength projects such as bridges and dams.
- Refractory materials: used as an additive to make refractory bricks and castables, enhance high temperature resistance, and used in steel and glass kilns.
- Coatings and rubber: added to anti-corrosion coatings to improve corrosion resistance, or as a rubber filler to enhance wear resistance.
