Products Description
Silicon Metal Powder is a powdered material produced by crushing and grinding silicon metal. It appears as a gray or black powder, with particle sizes that can be processed into different specifications based on requirements. It has a density of approximately 2.33 g/cm³ and a melting point of 1414°C, offering good electrical and thermal conductivity.
Main Application Areas

Semiconductor and Electronics Industry
High-purity silicon metal powder can be further refined into monocrystalline silicon, which is used to manufacture chips, integrated circuits, solar cells, and other semiconductor devices. However, this application requires extremely high purity, and ordinary industrial-grade silicon powder must be purified before use.
When mixed with resin, silicon metal powder serves as a filler material to improve the thermal conductivity and mechanical strength of electronic components.
Refractory and Ceramics Industry
Silicon metal powder mixed with carbon, alumina, and other materials can be used to produce high-temperature resistant refractory bricks and castables for lining steelmaking furnaces and glass kilns.
When added to ceramic raw materials, it enhances the strength and high-temperature resistance of ceramics, making it suitable for the production of structural and functional ceramics.

Metallurgical Industry
Used as a deoxidizer in steelmaking to remove oxygen from molten steel, thereby improving steel quality.
Acts as an inoculant in cast iron production to optimize the graphite structure and enhance the mechanical properties of cast iron.
Organosilicon Compound Synthesis
Silicon metal powder reacts with chlorinated hydrocarbons (such as chloromethane) under the action of a catalyst to produce methylchlorosilanes (e.g., MeSiCl₃, Me₂SiCl₂), which can be further synthesized into silicone oil, silicone rubber, silicone resin, and other organosilicon products.
